Our Offerings
Every engagement starts the same way. We embed, we listen, and we find the story before a camera points anywhere. What we build from there depends on what your organization needs.
The Pilot
A focused engagement. One mission film. The story that starts everything.
Every lasting brand story begins with a single, definitive statement of purpose. The Pilot is that statement: a contained, focused engagement designed to find the human story at the center of your organization and put it on screen for the first time. We embed before a camera points anywhere. We listen, look, and find the character, desire, conflict, and resolution that make your story worth telling. What comes out is a permanent asset you'll use for years.

The Series
A sustained partnership. An original documentary series. A brand story told over time.
The Series is for organizations ready to move beyond a single statement and build a sustained presence, one that compounds over time and tells the brand story across multiple episodes and formats. At the center is something few studios offer: an original short-form documentary series, commissioned specifically for your brand, built around the world your organization inhabits. The embedded team stays close throughout. This is a partnership with a production cadence.

The Feature
A full institutional engagement. Documentary at scale. Built to last.
The Feature is the full commitment: a long-arc, embedded engagement for organizations building something generational. A documentary work of institutional significance, produced with the craft of independent film and the strategic discipline of a studio that plans for decades. What comes out of it becomes the organization's record.

The Commission
For work that doesn't fit a tier.
Some organizations need something the tiers weren't built for: a brand experience designed from the ground up, a recurring event, a platform, an editorial program, or a chapter in one of our original series. The Commission is scoped around what you need, through the same discovery process as every other engagement. We embed first, find the story, and build the plan from there. The scale and the timeline follow the work.

The Embedded Team
We don't parachute in. We embed.
Every Can & String engagement — regardless of tier — includes an embedded production team. This is not a crew that arrives on shoot day and disappears at wrap. It's a team that spends time inside your organization before a camera points anywhere.
The embedded model is how we find the story. It's how we earn the trust of the people who will be on screen. It's how we understand what's actually happening inside an organization well enough to represent it as it is. That's what lets the work travel long after it's published.
Team composition is determined by the nature of the engagement and the organization. What doesn't change is the methodology: we are present before, during, and after production. We are invested in the outcome. We treat every organization's story with the same care we bring to our own original work.
A Note on the Creative Brief
The discovery process, the creative brief, and the strategic thinking that precede every production are built into the engagement — not offered as a value-add in a pitch.
The ideas are the product. The process is proprietary. What we share before an engagement begins is enough to establish trust and alignment. What we build inside the engagement is what you're investing in.
